Default Rear emblem location

I have a '98 coupe that I had to get a new hatch for, and I need to stick the emblem on. I'm trying to figure out how far it is from the edge of the hatch to the bottom of the flag sticks. I have seen three different answers from people who have all claimed to measure it! 1 inch, 1 3/8, and 1 1/2.

Would some of you mind measuring yours and tell me what you get? It's hard for me to believe the factory put them on in such different locations. Thanks.
