Default need help please

Hey guys need your help go to start the vette on Wednesday and it started but immediately turned off and didn't start again, look at,the fuel pressure and there's no fuel pressure. Checked fuse 13 & it was good also checked the relay and it seemed fine, then I went to start it again today praying it would start cause it hasn't turned on since Wednesday and I see the fuel pressure went back to normal and it turned on but then the samething turned off and no fuel pressure is there any other fuses or anything else I should check before replacing the fuel pump?

Thank you for the help much needed

Ok lets start from the beginning...

when you turn the key on do you hear the fuel pump kick on? It only runs for a few seconds.

If so you know the pump is good

Next you say if you have pressure it will start and run and then die...after it dies do you still have fuel pressure at the rail? If not that would indicate a blockage somewhere most likely the filter.....I think the reason you get pressure after a while is the blockage isn't stopping it completely but enough that the car isn't getting enough fuel to stay running.

Of course I am only guessing....only one way to find out

On a side note make sure you get the right fuel line disconnect tool if you need to replace the filter

Good luck!

I don't know if this will help - Sounds like a problem I had. It would fire up while starter motor was working (key in start position) and shut off immediately when I let go of the key (key on,run position) After checking everything and doing a lot of research it turned out the problem was very simple. I put in a new battery (it was about due to change anyway) and cleaned the battery cables. And that was it! That was 3 years ago and perfect ever since. It was going into an anti theft mode and turning off the fuel pump. Hope this helps - good luck.
