Default Oil Pressure Issue

I have a 2001 coupe with auto trans. This evening driving home from dinner I noticed that the oil pressure gauge was pegged at 80 psi. When I brought oil pressure up on the DIC it said 130psi. Oil pressure on the heads up display was 8 bars. It does not move at all with respect to engine rpm. With the engine off when I turn the key on all gauges go to peg and then return to zero except the oil pressure gauge goes back to peged at 80psi ( engine off key on ) My normal oil pressure is between 45 and 55 psi. The DIC says I have 93% oil life left. I use Mobil 1 5W30 oil and AC Delco filters. Any thoughts as to my problem? My first instinct is a faulty oil pressure sending unit. Any help would be appreciated. Thank You, Tom

The most common problem on a C5. Plenty of reading if you use the search function of this forum.

Hmm...member since 2007? Probably the most common problem on a C5. You need to replace the sensor. It is behind the intake manifold.
