Ready to order a set of CCW wheels from John. The question I have is; I just lowered the car......will I have a clearance problem with the rear tires?? If not a clearance problem what about transfer issues with the lower height?
Also what kind of air pressures have been working as a rule?
Re: Question for those w/ CCW Drag setup!! (nevrenuf)
Tom,
How wide is that back tire?? I have 295's on the car right now and they clear great with the lowered car. How does your car hook up? Did you try going to the track before and after lowering?
Re: Question for those w/ CCW Drag setup!! (9D9LS1)
Mine hooks awesome.. I really had not given it my credit until ChrisNJC5 gave me some advice last week at the cruise in. My best (and only run), after he told me how to launch, was 1.619... much improved over the 1.84 to 1.91 launches I'd been getting!!!!
Back tire is a 26 x 11.5" drag slick..
Car was better after lowering.. dramatically reduced the wheel hop I had been experiencing...
Car hooks great now.. I'm confident that I'll have 1.52-1.56's this year....
Re: Question for those w/ CCW Drag setup!! (nevrenuf)
I'd be tickled to death to pull a consistent 1.60!! A 1.52 would be even better!
I assume you were running a "drag radial" type tire before. How much different of a rpm launch did you have? I know when I have run ET drags in the past I would leave about 5000 rpms vs. 4000 rpms for drag radials.
