Default New Wheel Problem

I tried to purchase a set of staggered C5 Cray corvette wheels (Scorpion) for my 2004 through Discount Tires Direct. I was told they would not work due to a speed sensor incompatibility. Can someone please explain this to me? Can the component of the speed sensor feeds from my current wheels be used with the new Cray Scorpions (17x9(F), 18x10.5(R))?
Thanks a million......

Default New Wheel Problem

Thanks, 8VETTEZ....I'll call the distributor again to get the info over again and more specifically. He said there was a compatability issue and thought that since I had a 2004 that could be the problem - like Cray doesn't make the right ones anymore for my year. Really didn't make sense to me, but I'm not up to speed on swapping out wheels and what to keep in mind when going from the stock size to aftermarket large width. Thanks again....

Default New Wheel Problems

Any C5 people out there that purchased Cray Scorpions. I'm getting info about a wheel sensor problems for a 2004. One report - your sensors were programmed only once; Another report - they can be swapped out from your original wheels. I want (F) 17x9's and (R) 18x10.5's. What problems will I encounter if I order them and have a local place like NTB, Pep Boys, or Mr. Tire put them on? I did not know I'd have this problem with the sensors. Anyone know where I can see a picture of these sensors? Thanks a million!

Default new wheel problem

Hi Whats important is the the difference between the dia of the wheels with the tyres fitted on my c5 z this is 20 mm I think on a standard c5 I think its about 25 mm the wheel sizes you are thinking of fitting are c5 zo6 sizes and presumably the tyres will also be c5zo6 sizes perhaps this will have an affect on your traction/active handling

Default Thanks CJW

Thank you for your reply! I'm still not sure what I should be doing. I clearly get the impression that Cray IS the way to go. Now I want to be sure I'm doing the right thing. I appreciate your input. I am going up in size on the front and rear from 17x8.5 to 17x9 - front and 18x9.5 to 18x10.5 - rear. Plan to use tires 265/40-17 - front and 295/35-18 - rear. See any issues with that combo?
