I need to replace my sway bar bushings in my 2000 w/ z06 sway bars and was wondering if a poly would cause squeaking or groaning? I want a silent bushing that I don't have to grease each year preferrably.
I didn't grease mine this last time, I applied Teflon plumbers tape instead. Did a friends as well. Never a squeak since and they are not messy anymore.
I installed mine maybe 3 months ago, and it's starting to squeak again. I DD my car though, so maybe the grease is slowly being washed away by rain water. I'm going to do teflon tape when I get around to fixing the squeak.

I like that idea.
I'll have to add that to my project list for next winter.
I tend to agree with folks like Halverson that the poly bushings are only needed by serious racers doing very high G transitions. Otherwise, they really aren't worth the ride and noise problems on a mostly street car. Good for bragging rights but that's about it.
