Default Borlas??

Helping out a friend with his 99.
He recently had the Borla mufflers with quad tips installed.
The guy that did the install for some reason messed with the head pipes and broke 2 manifold studs off on the pass side. So just one bolt holding that head pipe to the manifold.
So anyway, we removed the head pipes, of course breaking a couple more studs. Expected that.
Cut off the other 2 and started from scratch, drilling and tapping all 6 holes and installing 6 new studs.

Everything is back together but we're trying to get the mufflers and tips perfectly lined up.

Noticed if you sight the driver side muffler along the tail pipe with the tips they are peerfectly parrallel. Passenger side is way off, with the muffler slanted on an angle to get the tips lined up.

Anyone else notice this or is the U pipe coming out of the muffler welded on a few degrees off?
Also, the welded on flange on this side won't seal with the head pipe flange. You can actually wriggle the gasket. Warped when welded?
Is this typical of Borla?

Suggested he write them a letter

I am a perfectionist and notice that all exhaust system components are off from one side to the next a little. Exhaust systems move over time too. I am always getting under the back and straightening the system and re tightening it. Its annoying.

With the borla quad tips they seem to move around a little mostly after some fast driving . After i got them lined up i just put a little tack weld under the band clamp that can be cut easily. Problem solved

Mine move around as well. I have been under the car about 3 different times to get it straight.

If you sight your MUFFLERS you'll see the pass side looks angled down a little where the driver side looks pretty much horizontal with the ground. TIPS look OK.
That's what we ended up with, but worse.
Guess it'll do

Mine is the same. Passenger side tends to slope down to the outside.

That's why I went with the Stinger set up with only two tips, I had seen too many quads that wouldn't line up.

Same issue with me. I have them lined up alright horizontally, but if you look down at them the passenger side is slanted towards the drivers side. It bugs me, but its something I'm sure only I notice.

We actually got the TIPS lined up pretty good.
It's looking beyond the tips under the car that the pass side muffler is slanted down quite a bit. It just looks like the U pipe isn't welded on the same as the driver side.
With everything off the car you can see where the driver side muffler and pipe are perfectly parralel to each other. Pass side is angled.

Just being really picky

I had to "adjust" my quads once in 8 years. They are pretty much rock-steady (and a great deal with the group buy of $550, way back then).
