Turn signals dont work
Blinkers stop working after car gets warm. I was told the multifunction switch (blinker/headlight switch) was probably bad so I bought a brand new one from dealer and had them install it and blinkers still dont work. Anyone had this issue? Know of a solution? The headlights do work.

More likely the hazard switch than the stalk. Push the hazard switch off and on a few times and see if the blinkers work at all. If that's the problem, there's a recent post of how to change it without disassembling the dash. It's titled something like "18 minute flasher fix" or similar.

[QUOTE=lucky131969;1581558549]Have you checked for 12 volts and ground at the connectors with a meter?[/QUOTE
Not sure I understand this. You mean battery connections? And I dont have a meter. Assume I get one at an auto parts store?

Guaranteed its the flasher/hazard switch. Mine is doing the same exact thing and I will be bypassing it this weekend when I get some free time, using a guide that's floating around here somewhere. Google "c5 flasher bypass" and see what comes up. A very common problem on these cars, good luck!

Never tried the bypass but I went the GM route and got the part from my stealer. You could give GMPartsWarehouse a call. Anyway this guy has great instructions, this worked for me with some determination:

It does appear to be the hazard switch. When turn signals stop working il press the hazard switch on and off (which only barely works), and then flip the stalk and the turn signals start working again somehow.
Thanks for the replies.

Hey Hunter83,
The forum emailed me when you replied so I came back here, and noticed the link I posted is now broken. Funny coincidence. I was able to salvage the PDF from Google's cache and I've added it to my Google Docs repo and shared it publicly. You can get directions for hazard switch replacement here:

This worked for me. The only hard part was the step where you get the top snap loose by banging on the flasher with a screwdriver. For some reason it took me forever to get that to go. I think, in fact, I ended up getting in there somehow (wear gloves) and either snapping it or managing to pinch it with a tool. It took me a few tries, and it was when I first got the car so I kind of forget. Still, hours of fiddling with that is still easier than taking out the dash.

I would suggest you do a little more trouble shooting instead of just replacing parts.

Your first post said you had the switch replaced by the dealer and it did not fix the problem.
That said, you're right, thorough troubleshooting is always best!

After reading the post again...You're Right. It was late in the day and I was on my out. Does sound like it may be the hazard switch since he has already replaced the stalk. I would still check for voltage and ground.
