Half shaft install? stuck.
In the process of putting the car back together again after a clutch job. The half shafts really don't want to go back in
.
The outer CV joint is at a pretty extreme angle and doesn't want to rotate. Does it bind at a certain point? I can't get these parts back together.
Any thoughts? photos?

Check to make sure that the retaining ring is properly seated in the end of the half shaft spline area. Liberally lube this spring clip and the shaft splines so it slides in easily. Also spread some lube on the rubber of the half shaft seal on the side of the differential to avoid tearing. Align the halfshaft - keep it straight - make sure splines are proplerly lined up. Use a rubber mallet on the end of the shaft to persuade the clip to slide in and seat. It sometimes takes a FIRM wack with the mallet to get it to pop in place. Reassemble the outer hub and spindle and you are done.
