Default Help DIC Buttons and Horn not working

Hi everyone, I have two issues that seemed to occur at the same time not sure if they are related. I have a C6 Steering wheel in my C5 which I did about 5 month ago, I did all the wiring and I got the horn working flawlessly no issues at all. So I don't have a membrane issue This past weekend the horns just stop working along with DIC buttons.

The wiring to the steering wheel is at 12v, the ground under the steering wheel is fine as well. So I know its not a voltage issue. The horn sounds when I use the FOB, so I assume there is no issue with the horn, the fuse or the relay.

The DIC buttons don't work when I press them. I took out the IPC and check the connections for corrosion and even put dielectric grease to see if that helped. I'm thinking that it is the switch.

I am completely stumped if anyone can help or give me any other ideas. I was thinking that maybe my BCM is malfunctioning as both the Horn Wiring and the IPC goes into it but my IPC still displays my seat belt light and all gauges still work properly.

If you have 12 volts to the steering wheel horn switch, then the problem has to be with the ground (or wiring) at the steering column.

I'm not sure what you used dielectric grease on, but since that is an insulator(not a conductor), it can only make you issues worse.

I used dielectric grease on the IPC Connector that goes into the DIC switch that has Fuel Gauges, Trip, Options, Reset on it.

Like I said, it can only make things worse.

I just finished buying a used switch on ebay as GM does not make them anymore hopefully that will fix the switch issue, unless that one is mess up too .

I will check the ground again, is it possible that the relay can work with the FOB and make the horn sound but malfunction and not work with the horn from the steering wheel?

The relay is looking for a ground, provided by the BCM or the steering wheel. So, it either works, or it does not.
