Re: WHAT SHOULD I DO?? MTI 422 or S/C 383?? (IH8PONYS)
Thanks again for the comments. I think however i am gonna go with the 383 S/C. I would love the 422, but i want other things too. :( The stroker is going to be built for me by a man that used to build engines for NHRA i cannot say his name. He is also building my cage. everything has been priced already and is going to be paied for Labor ect. I will not use Nitrous, I have been there done that for Two years, I could not stand it. nos is just not a route i wanna take anymore. Thanks for everything ill let u know how it turns out. :D U NEVER KNOW THOUGH :jester :jester

An All Bore is actually usually a few bucks cheaper than a Stroker because a resleeved block is slightly less expensive than a new Lunati Crank. The stock crank is good for the HP you will be putting down.
Just remember, you are sort of being on the leading edge of this increased displacement engine with a supercharger scenerio. Be prepared to shell out some big bucks for a new pulley system that will stop the slippage which really isnt even available yet. I know of a few tuners that have not had much luck with getting rid of the slippage. Also, you will have to go with a more powerful fuel pump, and perhaps larger fuel rails, which are also not available at the moment!
I think if reliability and quick turnaround time is what you are after, you are making the wrong decision.

Amen to what both Kewlbrez and Matt G have stated. I would go the sure, availbable, proven, durable route here and not pioneer as that will lead to :U more often than not and endless $!
Just my two cents.
Goodluck to you and i wish you the best in your endeavors for a BEAST of a C5 that will be reliable.
Nitrovette :smash:

You should be able to lay down 500+ RWHP with a standard bore engine with heads/cam,exhaust,and a ATI blower, and have plenty jack left over.
You really don't need a stroker for that power level.

Thanks blue, But i am considering just a HEAD CAM package from MTI and 10lbs from the ATI. Later i will get the 422 and put 15lbs on it. That is when iam outta College :D

IH8PONYS, If you go with a H/C pkg and then throw on the ATI you may have some compression issues..Typically when you change your heads the compression raises considerably. I think with the ATI you will want to keep your compression under 10.0:1.
Mine is 10.8:1 and that is to high , even for a small boost of 7PSI. I may be all wrong about this..But this is what a few tuners have told me.

How about MTI's new all-bore 393ci LS6 setup with a solid roller cam. If I ever hit the lotto im gonna get done to my camaro. SW just put down 483.7 rwhp & 444.2 ft-lbs SAE corrected with a hyraulic cam and stock tuning. Just think what i would do with a solid roller cam.

Sounds good. Get a good set of pistons and a nice blower cam. LS1motorsports sells a kit to replace your stock pistons with forged ones. I think its 1k. Then later on go big once you get out of college. Even the blower ontop of the H/C should put you over 500 if not more.

Ya thats what i was plannin on. Get the MTI heads and cam and a zo6 intake, then when i get out of school get the 422. Ill already have the heads and stuff. plus now i want rims and paint, so i have to save money and a head cam S/C combo is damn good, i mean thats 10's all day.

There's nothing wrong with boosting a 38x CID motor, it will have tons of torque, but just limited to 6600RPM.
