1. Absolutely go to a 160* thermo
2. Adjust BOTH fans to come ON earlier
3. The stock tune has the #1 fan turn OFF at 35 MPH !! and
the #2 fan OFF at 90 MPH--Deffanitely would adjudt these fan off MPH's
4. The min "run time of the #1 fan is 50 seconds---and #2 min run time is only 26 seconds !! again reprogram these to NOT turn OFF
It's been my experience once you get these cars HOT--they stay HOT so the key for me has always been to prevent them from getting there
Ok I'm going to respond to all of the above not just this quote.

Yes I have consulted STS they are suggesting the Methonal injection into the combustion chamber. They have a setup that works with their turbo kit. However, My Corvette Mechanic does not feel that will address the real issue and with more power being produced with 50/50 injected Methonal he feels it will just make more heat.

Regarding the fan reprogramming. Yes that is a good idea. However read my initial description of the car. I can turn on the large fan manually with a switch inside the car. This is a SacCity Corvette VR3 unit which allows me to run the fans key on or off.

Gas octane. This is California I can get 100 LL but I have to drive 30miles round trip so that is not a good option. (Yes I do get 110 race fuel for the other fun car but that is a different stort).

Changing the T-stat. Yes that will get the fluid moving sooner but when it its 230+ that does nothing for me. However I do believe I will change out the factory to a 180 degree.

Cutting flaps in Fan cluster. I've noted that this is done on the Dewitt fan upgrade so if I do go that route the flaps will already be in place.

Regarding oil temps. The oil temps seem to run about 10 to 15 degrees higher than the coolant. I've checked this at normal driving and hard driving and this seems to be a pretty steady relationship. So still my question is if I install an oil cooler will that reduce my coolant temp by relocating the oil out of the radiator?

Regarding HP. I have a CARB legal tune which put 500 to flywheel and 435 to rear wheels. Yes it is fun when it is spooled up!!!! The car makes a very destinctive sound since the turbos replace the rear mufflers and have a very high pitch wine to them.

If you put the EOC in series with the current one you will shed more BTUs, but how many more? Your 10-15 delta says the current oil cooler is working fine, but don't forget where it's shedding that heat: right into the coolant.

Like I said above, you might consider a heat extractor hood. Considering how much you've got in this baby the cost won't be out of sight, and getting the heat out of the engine bay, and also much better flow through the rad, will help a lot.

HTH, and have a good one,
Mike

Typically an oil cooler is installed in addition to (in series with) the stock cooler, and does not replace it.

Whatever heat the cooler removes is less heat going into the radiator.

I also have a hard time believing a meth kit is the answer, but nothing is impossible.

You might contact a blower person like blownbluez06 and see what he has to say. I would bet that whatever the SC guys use would also work with the turbos. Maybe even one of the A&A guys would be willing to give some input.

I'm trying to stay away from any overt body modifications but you may be correct. What I may end up doing is getting a hood for the track and keep what I have for the road. I've just did this with a rear end on my sons car. Moser would not let us run their pro/street grears in the car and required us to run a full pro gear. We bought two carraiges one for the track and one for the road. We went to a 9 in configuration so it would be an easy swap. Had something to do with 1000 hp and 5100 lbs. Yes it turns in the low 11.00 and when we get it tuned it will be in the 10's . I digressed that is a whole different story.
