Default Tpms from 2001 will it work in 1998

I just bought rims from my buddy he has a 2001 vert and I have a 1998 vert will the Tpms work with my car right now when I start up the car I get a service error ,hit reset and it goes away till the next time I start the car.
Help I only got the car two weeks ago so not overly familiar with c5's

ABSOLUTY NOT! You need early C5 sensors and they are expensive. You can upgrade the RFA and FOBS so you can use the newer sensors. Check out these links:

There are less expensive ones on the market today. Just make sure you get the right ones for your year of car. The sensors changed in 2001.
