Brakes now completely fixed!
Thought I'd share this since I had to learn it the hard way, as usual. 
First I reported that my brakes sucked. Replaced the MC with no diff. Bled the system till I was blue in the face. Finally paid the dealer to power bleed it with the Tech ii activating the ABS. Big difference, but the car still didn't live up to expectations.
My rotors are the drilled and slotted GM parts and they were turned at the start of all this.
So that left the pads.
I had chosen Power Stop. A carbon metallic pad. Sounded good to me. I was wrong! So I replaced them with EBC Green Stuff pads.
Holy crap! I could tell just backing out of the driveway that I had fixed the final issue. The car will now suck my eyeballs out, just like I knew it should be able to do!
I have the EBC green stuff pads on my Cobalt SS and love them. I tried to out think myself and save some money and try the PS pads....
I am sure there are many great pads to choose from. EBC Green Stuff, highly recommended.
