i recently bought a used 98 c5. i noticed it still has the factory fuel pressure regulator on the cross over tube of the fuel rail. it also has an aftermarket summit adj fuel pressure regulator inline. will having these 2 regulators hurt my fuel delivery or cars performance?
reason im asking is, when car sits all day or for 24 hours, it wont start on the 1st try. it usually starts on the 2nd try and sometimes 3rd. after driving around for a while, car starts on the first try. any reason why i should have the fuel regulated twice? ill try and post a pic of my current setup. thanks,
No starts on 1st try sounds like loss of pressure @ fuel rails....not really and uncommon problem on cars. But usually a sign of something going out (I.e. fuel pump).
As for 2 FPRs in conjunction, not sure about that. Maybe the aftermarket is adjustable?
here is the current setup. you can see the main feed line it goes into the summit one, then back thru the factory one. could this be why the car has a hard time priming up at first?
