C5 Z06 with less than 50,000KM. Grinds going into 4th and sometimes when downshifting into 3rd. If I go from third to fifth (leaving the clutch in) and then back down into 4th I can avoid the grind. Every once in a while when in third I can't get it out until the revs come right off. When in the neutral position the transition along neutral between gears is rough. I'm hearing some noise when in the neutral position which I can stop or at least reduce by pushing the shift forward ever so slightly. If I pull it back about a mm I can feel mechanical chatter on the shifter and I begin to hear more noise from the gearbox (I think). I might have a bit of chatter when I start in 2nd. I'm thinking the clutch is deteriorating and might be dragging. I hope it's not a synchro. Anyone help here. Also anyone know a reliable place to take the car to in Toronto to have this checked out? Thanks.

You can try re-aligning your shifter (search for shifter realignment procedure) and new trans fluid first but it sounds like your trans is going to need to be rebuilt. That fourth gear grind is pretty common, search for it on here...
You (or a shop) can pull the bellhousing inspection cover and look at the clutch life if you want to but your problem doesn't sound clutch related to me.

With less than 32,000 miles on it, it sounds like your transmission may have led a hard life.
