Take that K&N bs off. Throw a stock box back on, and do a search for "flip tie mod".

Clean your clutch fluid and do a search for "ranger method". Learning to launch/shift is the single biggest performance mod you can do for yourself. I went 12.84 BONE STOCK, with runflats still on the car. Don't bother buying parts until you are in that neighborhood.

Once your driving is up to par, the first mod I would recommend would be hptuners. Learn to tune your car FIRST, so that you can enjoy 100% of the benefits available from every part you buy.

Then do longtubes, ls6 manifold/throttle body, cam, heads. In that order. Gears are an option, but I personally really like the stock gearing for all the commuting I do.

What's the budget? Lots of ways to go but it's all about cubic bucks.

Well, I say take a lesson from MASH. You are only racing one guy in his one car. The cheapest way to beat the guy is to use a little strategy. Sabotage his car. Nothing serious - a little tire slick on his rear tires - that should do it. <grin>

By the way, I live in North Bend.

Have a friend put the tire slick on the car just before the run while you distract the guy by talking to him some distance away with his back turned to his car.

Yes, in this case I believe in cheating. You're not there to run second to a ricer.

Better tires and learn to LAUNCH properly. Learn how and when to shift. Your stock engine Tq drops off well before red line.

Here are the GET WELL/GO FAST things that I would do first.

- 2001+ Stock LS intake. 10 easy HP
- VARARAM Cold Air Intake 10-15 HP
- Stainless Steel Long Tube Headers Contact SUPERMAN09 for a set of XS Power headers (complete set with cats and midpipe = $900)
- Better tires
- 390 Gears (Contact forum member Rick Kim:

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c5-p...ferential.html

After you Modify all that your budget will stand,, GET A PROFESSIONAL PCM TUNE!!!!!

You will be in the 380-390 RWHP 370 Tq range. Been there ,,, done that!

Once you get tired of that Hp increase, your next step up will be heads /cam /FAST 90, new clutch and wider tires. My o2 ZO6 is currently in the 450 RWHP range. All said and done, wish I would have just added a big ole supercharger!!!:ro fl:
