LEAVE it be !!! There is very little HP gains on a stockish bolt on engine when installing hi flow cats---Same goes for rempoving them completely-- Hi flows maybe 2-5 RWHP and removal maybe 5-6 RWHP-- Not worth the effort and the $$$ in my opinion--You'd be better off spending your money elsewhere and won't have to worry about the smog police--

Op didn't state whether it is just as a modification or a needed replacement. If in need of new cats, its cheaper and well worth it. If the stock cats are fine, I would leave them alone too.
I am doing mods this winter. ls6 intake, ported throttle body, #32 injectors, B$B smog legal short tubes, AFR 1510 smog legal heads and Comp Cam 219/227, 571/578, LSA 114.Then a custom tune. I think good cats would help this set up. O no I said short headers,I know long tubes are better. But the shorts will definitely out flow stock manifolds.

You should look into the comp 224/228 .581/.588 114lsa cam. It is a well know smog legal cam and whats going into my cali car. Might as well get the max out of a smog legal cam swap.
The guys that are going to tune my set up wanted me to get the part number and or grind number to make sure its right for me thanks. Is the idle lumpy or fairly smooth and have you heard one idle yourself. Thanks
