I travel a lot for a living... Sometimes my Z can go up to a month without being started
It's had a ton of mods done on it and I'm concerned about dry starting it as I call it... My garage (it's home ) is climate controlled so while sitting its never exposed to extreme heat heat or cold... The guy that done the performance work on it said to use Lucus, anyone have a thought on this ?
The reason for the question is because I was just reading why people do not put additives in there engines
If you are really concerned, get an accusump. You can close the valve on it while the engine is running and then just before you start it you can open the valve and it will send s slug of oil thru the system and charge your bearings and cam surfaces...
couldnt you just unhook the coils and spin the motor? i mean wouldnt oil be left over from the last time it was ran on the bearings?
This is what I do when my car sits for a while....plus I pull the fuel pump fuse....as to not load the cylinder with fuel while I'm dry spinning it. It takes a whole 2 minutes to do this.
I bump it for about 3 seconds a piece...typically takes about 3-4 bumps to show pressure on the gauge.......then plug the coils back in, pop the fuse back in then start her up.
As long as you're using a quality synthetic oil you have nothing to worry about.
Don't believe?
Soak a bolt or a socket or a bearing shell if you have one with the oil and leave it on the work bench for a month. Trust me that sucker will still be slippery when you pick it up.

Thanks for your reply prolly the best of the day... The car is fine just wanting a few options... For me the car is an investment or I see it that way...
I it a ton of money in the motor , again thanks
Well there's a reason even conventinal oils are almost double what they were 10 years ago and it has nothing to do with world oil prices. I work for an auto parts company that distributes all the big players(Castrol, Pennzoil, Quaker State, AC delco, Mobil 1,Royal Purple,Red Line, Lucas Pentosin, Beck Arnley yada yada). So I have to explain this daily to customers that don't understand why I can't sell them oil at $1.99 to compete with some junk that doesn't even have an API starburst symbol and the grade is scribbled on the drum with chalk.
Ya get what ya pay for at the end of the day.
