The C6 slips down onto the shaft. No threads. It's held in place by a single screw on the side of the **** near the bottom. With boot in place you can't see it.
Not really sure if the threaded C6 ***** being offered by a couple vendors are OEM ***** that have been threaded for C5s or are reproductions made with threads. I'm thinking they are likely OEM that have been threaded.
I got my c6 shifter **** from gscreations it has a self threading polymer boss inside that locks in when you screw it on. But i put some loctite blue on for extra measure. Feels great, BIG improvement over the dated stock shift ****, and has never lossened up.
