Just finished up a Monster Clutch Install on my 1999 FRC, and have been driving a lot of street miles to break it in right. Well I had to hop on the freeway last night for a quick second, and got stuck next to a truck. I was in 3rd, and eased into it to get ahead, right away I noticed that the RPMs were just not climbing. I have about 200 miles on it so far. I worried me a bit, so I got off the next exit. Got back on the street, and accelerated in first up to about 3k, and again it just falls on its face. In nuetral, with the clutch in or out, free revving seems like theres no issue. Only under a load does it bogg out. Im going to try and get a video to see if that helps describe the issue. Only other thing I did during the clutch install, was swap about the fuel filter. I had no issues before the clutch. I don't the clutch is slipping, I would assume it would just revv up, and not go any where. Anyway, whats your guys opinion. Thanks!

Did you get the right filter? The filters for a 99 have the pressure regulator built into the filter.
Im not sure which year it was for. My buddy was helping me, and I mentioned I should probably replace the fuel filter since I was under there. He brought up he had purchased some for his Trans-am, because I guess F-body guys use vette filters since they are all internaly regulated. I assumed it was right for mine. Is there a way, possibly through the access cover of the bell housing, I could check to make sure the clutch is engaging fully.
Although, like I said previously, I wouldnt think slippage, would feel like a bog/miss.
On my way to work, it didnt feel to bad, I could barely notice it but it was there. Also no codes. Im going to swap the filter again, and make sure its for a 99.
Fuel filter Part #'s for a 99 corvette vs a 99 Fbody are completely different. Also the fuel filter on my 02 Camaro SS looks totally different than on my 03 z06.

....and an extra fitting. Had the OP tried to install a 97-98 filter, he would immediately noticed, that there was an extra line...that could not be connected to the filter.
He said that I guess Fbody guys convert over. Just noticed something also. I used to be able to just hit the key and it would fire up. Also seems priming, is taking longer than usual. I'm gonna get under there and check my fuel lines, and put my old filter in just to see.

All you need do is check pressure/bleed down at the rail. That will tell you next steps.
After a fuel pressure check, I would only get 35lbs KO, and it would bleed down almost imediately. KOER, would only present about 36-38lbs. Swapped my old fuel filter in and got 56lbs KO and would idle at 58lbs.
I still wanted to get another new fuel filter in there, so I went down to Napa Auto parts and purchased a new WIX filter. Finally this things running well, and I can try and get some decent miles on this new clutch. Thanks for your help guys!
At least the Clutch Manufacture cant say that you beat your clutch before it was broken in if you ever have trouble with it in the warranty period!!!!!
Your buddy installed a POWER LIMITING DEVICE to keep you honest!
Glad you found the issue with out too much trouble.
Lol, I don't really believe in warrentys, as I sell them all day long. Even the most reputable manufacturers will try and avoid a warrenty replacement.. No one wants to lose money.

I am glad I am not the only one that happened to and I ended up with the same solution.
