I installed this on my 2002 vert in less than 2 minutes and love it!

I also like the fact that I can leave the radio on after I pull the ignition EVEN after opening the door. I can then raise all the windows, turn off the radio and lock the car as I walk away! :D

I installed my TopDownTech some time ago and it's great. I have a convertible and putting the top down/up now is a snap.

VERY VERY VERY COOL MOD!! You can't beat the price either!

I bought it mainly for when I put the car on the trailer and have to climb out the window because there isnt enough room between the fenders to open the door. I use it to roll the windows back up once im out of the car. However, I find myself constantly using it! It has a ton of other cool features too... Just plug it into your ODBII port, do a simple config through the DIC and yer all set.

I got mine installed maybe 2 months ago and have asked the tech about the option that auto door lock after start the car (or release the parking brake) ... That is a really neat and safe feature beside some useless features ... but he said that the chip will need to regrogram ...
New buyer, I think you can request this feature.
Just my 0.02$

Can't you use the AUTO LOCK feature from the DIC to do that?

You don't need the Window Valet to automatically lock your doors, it is not designed for this. You need to program your DIC for this feature.

Buy the Window Valet. It is a great addition to the fine C5. :yesnod:

It's a feature that you can use to deter theft by making the speedometer needle jump to 40mph or higher and sticking there till you hit the reset button. This feature is supposed to confuse the robber to perhaps leave your car alone  What is is good for is to confuse police officers. Because the needle stays "stuck" till you hit the reset button. You can get your self out of many speeding tickets by showing the officer the broken speedometer:D

:
I don't think so...not earlier year C5s anyway. If you can program the DIC to lock your doors after starting, I'd like to find out how!

On my car under the "options" button is "auto lock". Reset button changes back and forth from "auto lock off" to "auto lock on". Hope the 1999 C5 is the same.

When I get up to around 12 mph my doors automatically lock. :yesnod:
