Well I got hit by the column lock problem this morning and couldn't get around it. how many of you guys have had it and does the Chevrolet fix work? Also has this ever happened to anyone while driving. This thing could be a SERIOUS problem if not corrected properly. The chevy service manager didn't have a lot of confidence in the fix and that's scarey. I think chevy should have to pay for the column lock bypass if they can't correct it because that could be a real driving hazard for everyone. I can't image driving down the interstate at 70 and have the stearing wheel lock. :boxing :mad
I've never heard of the column locking while the car is in motion. I had mine lock up on me and had it towed and the dealer did their "fix". it locked up again afterwards (about 4 months after) and I tried pulling the wheel on startup and that worked. in fact, it's locked on me a couple times since then and I've done the wheel-turn on start up each time.
