I have a 2000 C5 with the fog light option and I was wondering if there was a way to have JUST the fog lights on without the headlights popping up. I had a '99 and when I rotated the headlight ring, the dash lights came on and the running lights turned off. With this one, as soon as I rotate it one click, the light pop up, but do not turn on unti lthe second click.
I figure it has to some sort of setting, just like the headlights automatically turning on at night. You don't happen to know what setting it is dealing with do you?
you twist the headlight **** to the parking light and push the fog light button.
thats about it.
Yup. I think someone else had your issue. I can't recall it might have been the HID kit or it was a bad headlight switch. At any rate, something was wrong with the car for the headlights to do that.

I think the Canadian optioned Corvette's do that ?
Canadian cars do what exactly because my Canadian car works just like the US ones except there is no twilight sentinal option. Torque has provided lots of threads about bad gears causing it so the OP needs to comment on his headlight motor health.
I don't believe the car is the Canadian car because I was able to turn the Sentinel mode off. I will definitely check out those threads right now because I am having some headlight motor trouble. the driver side headlight motor grinds for about 5 seconds when I close them.
I will dig into this and then post my findings.
thank you guys
I am going to try to flip the gear like the one guy said and see what happens.
If you have to open the motor case to flip the gear, why not just replace it with one of the metal gears sold here on the forum. It will probably outlast the car and sooner or later the flipped gear will break down as well. Just a thought. Good luck.

Don't even need to open the case, just remove the arm from the center and turn the shaft 180. Then put the arm back on. You're done. I did this and it lasted several years on my daily driver with plenty of headlight use.
