Default power outlet

My 2003 corvette when I plug in my Gps device into power outlet in center console nothing happens..... does this mean I have to replace another stupid thing in this car.

I believe you should check fuse #1 in the fuse box under the passenger front carpeting. The interior fuse panel is located there. I also think you will find that the console accessory port is switched on by the ignition switch. Don't quote me though.

Both plugs are "HOT ALL TIMES" but powered from separate fuses. The "electronic accessory plug" is powered by fuse #1 and the "cigar lighter" is powered by fuse #7 (on a 99 anyway...).
Check the fuse first, as mentioned above. If that isn't it, I would check the resistance of the plug/socket. A replacement shouldn't be too expensive.
