Default C6 and C5 fuel pumps

I have an 02 c5 coupe. So the question.... Is taking the fuel pump out of a 2005 C6 the same procedure/same labor as my 02 C5 or is the C6 different somehow. Just want to know before we get into it. Any info greatly appreciated

The C6 pump goes in the tank from the top so unless there is some sort of access panel inside the C6 I'm not aware of, it looks like the fuel tank has to come down to remove the pump, same as the '04 C5s.

Here's the C6 fuel tank(s) parts layout:

I figure it was the same as my 02. My brother in law has an 05 and the shop he was using was charging him double what mine cost. I told him that I didn't think they were different and that he needed to check elsewhere or we do it ourselves. Thank for the input.

Thanks guys, I just called and let him know. I didn't think there was a difference between mine or his in replacing the fuel pump, but thought I'd ask some knowledgable guys here to be sure. Thanks again

Glad to help. Sorry to be the bearer of the bad news.

FYI, your '02 was one of the last C5 year models in which the pumps can removed without dropping the tank. Part way through the '03 model year, the design was changed to the same layout as your BIL's C6.
