Fan Belt Issues
Hi
I am a new vette owner but seem to be chewing up fan belts
I suspect something out of alignment but the mechanics just keep replacing it and some bearings
Any assistance would be welcome
Thanks in Advance

YEP!
If the outer pully has seperated and has walked forward or reward, it will be out of alignment and cause the belts to jump and shread. They can also wobble.
Heres a post that has some good info on damper removal and tools.

When you go this far into a repair it a GREAT time to replace the timing chain (IT WILL BE WORN) and install a new high volume oil pump!
Make SURE that you replace the cover seal along with the new damper.
If you go aftermarket, I recommend the POWERBOND Damper.

Any recommendations on a supplier for the pump and timing chain? Brands, etc?

For an engine that is not heavily modified, you can easily upgrade to the improved LS2 chain and the Melling "HIGH VOLUME" pump is great right out of the box.
Both are excellent up grades over the LS1 stuff..
