02 z06 trans problems

I have slave cylinder shims en route from Tick. I'll be tearing into mine this weekend to check the gap between the throwout bearing and the pressure plate. This is what everybody is telling me is the cause of my almost identical problem--i.e. that the gap is too large, and so even at full extension, the slave cylinder can't fully disengage the clutch.

My trans shifts freely into all gears as long as the gears aren't spinning. If the internals are spinning, I can get it into 1st fine, 5th and 6th with a bit more pressure than I like, and 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grind. 3rd is especially horrible, it's like it doesn't have a synchro at all. And I've already installed a Tick MC. That was my first attempt to fix the grinding shifts.

It kinda does sound like a shim issue. For the most part, Ive never heard of anyone having to shim many vettes. But theres always some cases I guess. Its easy enough to measure while you have it apart.
