Default Clutch Issue

I need some insight concerning the operation of the clutch in my 2001. When I'm under hard throttle and attempt to shift into the next gear the clutch goes flat on me... It's as if it has gone out... but when I ease off the power it comes back to normal and shifts just fine. I'm also meeting with some problems going smoothly into 6th gear at various times. Thanks in advance.

Some keywords to search:

"Clutch pedal stick"
"slave cylinder failure"
"shifter alignment"
"ranger method"

I recommend you start by bleeding the clutch using the OEM's procedure.

Thank you for your help I'll give that a try it seems like a good starting point and not too expensive.

If it were me,,, I would do the easy things listed above.

If they fail to correct the problem, I would change the master cylinder. I had the same issues on my 02 Z after I did my heads/cam upgrade. Thinking it was a CLUTCH issue, I installed a SPEC Duel Disk clutch as well as adding a TICK Master and new slave and piolt brg.

When I removed the old OEM Z clutch, it was in very good condition for 55,000 clutch. I most likely only needed a new master cylinder and a good bleed/flush with some new fluid in the slave.

Changing the master is quick, cheep and easy. Its better than replacing the clutch if its not needed!
