The whole suspension system is squeaking quite a bit, mostly the rear suspension. It is starting to sound as bad as my 68 Mustang did when it needed a new front end every three years.
Considering taking it in to the dealer (have several other issues like fuel gauge problem for the second time), but I am wondering if they will just spray the crap out of the bushings etc with WD40 and call it good.
Also, anybody have experience with the aftermarket bushings? How difficult are they to install?
My suggestion would be to use marine grease... The stuff is pretty nasty and sticky but will stay on for good... I had the squeaking coming from my sways and (in my case) the lithium grease would only last about 6-12 months before the squeaking came back.... WD-40 would only last a few days  .
Have you had the sway bars off? This seems to the most common cause. The endlink bolts aren't torqued down enough.
Mine still creeks and I have the bolts really torque tight (I've had them off for lowering and bilstein shocks install). So my question to all you suspension experts; Is it possible they are too tight? There isn't enough movement, for example. I only seem to get the creeking during slow manuevers (parking). Or is it that I used a floor jack to get under the car, so the suspension was unsprun when I tightened it. What about lubrication? My plan is to get the car up on a 4 wheel lift retighten the swaybar links while sprung and lubricate. Does anyone else have some insight or suggestions?
I beleive there is a TSB for noise in the that appears to be coming from the rear of the car on rough road due to movement of muffler. My car had a noise and replacing the muffler insulators with the new design p/n 10421196 (I think this is the number) fixed the problem.
Sounds like (no pun intended) an inspection of the underside of the car may be in order based both on your input and the problem in another thread about the bad welds on the exhaust system.
I have not had the sway bars off, nor have I lowered the car or done anything with the suspension system. (not that I haven't wanted to, no time!) :yesnod:
