Default Caliper Cleaning Question????

I just put my car up on jacks in order to paint the calipers. I bought the Folia-Tec paint kit to use. I sprayed the calipers with the cleaning agent and was a little surprised. I expect some type of a cleaning action, maybe like "scrubbing bubbles", but those little guys didn't appear. The spray seemed to evaporate within a very short period of time. Is this what is to be expected or am I doing something wrong when I use the spray? I would appreciate comments from anybody that has used this stuff.

Thanks!

You did everything correct. The spray is simply brake cleaner just like the parts store sells. It is designed to remove grease and brake dust and leave no residue. It does not hurt to use a brush while you spray though.

Does it really get the calipers clean?

It does work ... but if you have brake cleaner ... just use it ... and normal Hi-Temp paint ... I painted mine blue to match my old 99C5 ...

I just did mine and was wondering the same thing. I did use a wire brush before to get any loose dirt, and then again after I sprayed. Everything turned out great for me.

This is what I used on mine. I really soaked the calipers down and then used a little steel wool to be sure. The calipers came out looking great and have been painted for seven months now.

Good luck - the paint will make a big difference in the looks of your wheel area.
