2003 convertible auto with occasional stall and intermittent no start. Sometimes when I start it, it stalls after 20 or 30 seconds, then restarts fine and runs great. Last week it did this and wouldn't restart. After flat bedding it home, same problem the next day. Plenty of fuel and spark. Left it in the garage for the hurricane for a week. Started it today, it stalled once and ran great all day! Crank sensor maybe? HELP!
When you say "INTERMITTENT NO START" do you mean that the starter will not crank the engine over OR the starter cranks but the engine will not fire and run????????
The DTCs will tell us a LOT!
Thanks a lot...keep in mind that as of now it starts ans runs like a top, never stalls or no start. Quick ques...if the crank sensor was causing the no start, would I still have spark? I had spark when the car wouldn't start...
BTW...if I disconnect the battery will I have a problem with the blend doors on the heat? The passenger side is stuck on hot, which I can deal with, but the drivers side works fine. I don't wanna mess it up. Like I said, I can deal with it the way it is. Thanks.
Thanks to all for the support...crank sensor installed, relearn compliments of my Snap On MODIS, 4.5 hours of running in the driveway, and put 30 miles on the car so far. I think it's fixed! Snapped one stud on the exhaust manifold on each side. Buttoned it up with no leaks, but need to get new studs. Anywhere in particular you recommend for "factory style" manifold studs?
