Default Strange wires coming from HUD

I decided to tackle the falling HUD fix yesterday and it went off without a hitch. It works great now and shows on the windshield clearly.. However, after I took the projector out of the car to work on it I noticed that there were wires coming from the back of the unit that ran to nowhere. You can see them in the picture and all four wires are just cut off, no plug or anything, they were just laying in the dash not doing a thing. They cant be too terribly important as they HUD seems to work just fine, but I would like to know what they would normally go to or maybe if this HUD came from another vehicle that had some other capability that this car does not have

Any help is appreciated

People have attempted to install a DISPLAY UNIT for different radar detectors so that it too displays in the HUD Display. I know the Valentine 1 (V1) has a remote display that people install in the HUD. Could be a left over wire attempt or failure from something like that. Where do they go inside the HUD module?

I posted a pic but if you cannot see it the wires go directly into the main projector, the part that lights up the image to be displayed. It is actually two "sets" of wires, a blue and a red twisted together making a total of 4 wires coming from the display.. I may try to open up the projector screen to see exactly where those wires go :-)

From the picture posted it looks like there are 2 LEDs mounted on the sides of the display. Those wires are probably going to them.

As Bill said, this is probably from some kind of radar detector install.

Well in that case I can rest assured nothing is "missing".. I can just leave the wires and, who knows, maybe sometime I will find a use for them

Look like they were left over from an alarm install. Twisted red and blue wires are common for that.

+1

Those appear to be dicrete LEDS that have been attached with silicone on either side of the read-out.
