OK Fellas, I have read a bunch about how to safely jack up the C6. The owners manual suggets lift spots that are inpossible to reach with a jack. Here in North Dakota through the long dark winter I just want to place the car on blocks so I can take off the wheels and detail custom painted the brake calipers and wheels. I have bought the pucks. Seems to me I could place a puck in the body underside, jack it up and place jack stands where GM recommends. But.... I have read a lot of threads about damage that can occur and don't want to damage the $80K car. Am I right?
make some ramps out of some wood planks to get the front up higher to get your jack in there. Should be some how-to's with the search function to help you.
post number 2 is what I do, I find jacking a car on pucks 'unsafe' and only use those points when on a lift
fwiw; the GS is a nice car, but let's keep in mind it's still the same motor that the base $40k 2013 has from Kerbeck.........unless you have the M6 coupe with the hand built dry sump motor
