Default Clutch fully depessed

I noticed recently that when shifting gears with clutch fully depressed, it feels like it is not slipping right into gear....feel the teeth of the gears grind(harsh word) very slightly(best way to describe). It is very slight but dont like it. Causes? Concerns?

Very first thing to do is check the clutch fluid resivour and make sure that it has fresh clean fluid and its full. If its black and nasty change it.

2. If you have never changed your tranny fluid, changing it will inprove shift quality and performance.

3. WHAT YEAR CAR do you have???? How many miles on the power train????

Sorry, I should have given particulars. I recently purchased a 1 owner 2002 6 speed vert..8k miles....I personally have done the ranger method for clutch fluid and got it nice and clean. Filled to proper amount.

I am unaware of tranny fluid change from previous owner. Is that something for a shop to do? Hate to mess with tranny Very happy with the car. Have been waiting long time to treat myself.

I respect your advice! I have been on forum and have read many many of your comments!! And see others giving due respect!

Thanks, John

I don't want to raise too much alarm, but this is precisely how my 03 Z06 behaved when the slave cylinder started dying. This happened very gradually over a long period if time, and I didn't connect cause and effect at the time, but looking back it's clear what was happening. 8k seems a bit early for that to be happening, though.

It ain't the mileage, it's the years.
