Got a Z06! What mods first?
- Hurst or B&M shifter - lets face it the stock shifter stinks
- Blackwing intake - I feel this is the best intake on the market for these cars.
- Good Brake Pads and Fluid change. Hawk and Performance friction both make excellent pads for these cars. I so fried C5 brakes all the time, and this is a good saftey margin (not to mention shorter stopping distances) for less than $250.
I also recomend changing the brake fluid over to Wilwood EXP600. This has the highest wet/dry boiling point of any streetable brake fluid I have found. Beware, this stuff is ~$25/bottle and should take 2 to flush and refill the system. - If you want sound change the catback exhaust, but know that it won't really gain you any power. I really like Corsa's systems.
- Headers - I don't see much HP difference between longtube and shorty headers on street cars. I personally recomend the JBA shorty's. They fit great, provide a good HP gain, are smog legal, and don't ruin your ground cleanance.

Congrats on the new ride.
The Vortex is the best cold air intake, consider it as well. The BW is also a great one for underhood apps.
Be aware though, to MAXIMIZE your gains, you will need to get a MAFTranslator to dial in better a/f ratios with intakes and the 02 Z.
We have both the BW and Vortex on special right now as well.

You should have already received your Blackwing. We sent it out a day or two ago.
You would really love an ATI on that car. It would be a true beast!
We are installing one on an 02 Z06 that has less than 1700 miles on it as we speak.
We expect a little over 500 rwhp on it.
We will update the forum with those numbers as soon as we get them in.
That may be something you would want to do in the future.
