Actually this is a really good question I will have to look into some more now. We list them as 01-04 on the rebuild, but this is a service we offer so we are rebuilding YOUR ebcm, not providing one to you. I was originally told they were the same by our rebuilder who did not see a difference in them so we used the 04 part number for the new one. I see where GM still shows a 01-02 and a 03-04 and one part number has not been superseded to the other. My gut says there is something different and not will not interchange. I will look into this some more tomorrow and see what I can come up with.
Thanks
Justin

Hi your site lists new ebcm's for $895 usd for all years 01- 04 . I asked the question direct from Zip corvette and this is their or your reply.
Hi Richard,
"The unit will work on any 01-04 C5 no problem.
Best Regards,

also i asked Brandon from ABS fixer who was going to supply a unit to me instead of a rebuild his reply as follows
"Hi Richard, all modules 01-04 are compatible....
I'm looking for a module for you...
Brandon"
I have based my purchase from ACDELCO direct on what i have been told and went for an 03 04 module . it was 130 bucks cheaper to boot....
How does a rebuilder verify an EBCM is good after they do their so called rebuild? That is the first question any competent rebuilder has to answer. If they don't verify it some way there is no way to know. As far as I can tell the popular ABSFixer can replace the relay in the module but really has no idea whether or not there is anything else wrong with the module. Zip should be able to tell you whether their supplier has the ability to diagnose failures in a module, replace the failed parts and then verify the module is functional. Just putting an ohm meter across the relay to see if it opens and closes and has a low contact resistance isn't a good test.
The schematics for the EBCMs are the same from 01 through 04 so that means they will connect to the wiring harness correctly and you will not short the power out. There are two different versions of the EBCM connector for 2003 (Early and Late), however, the connection points in the connector are the same for all years and for both 2003 versions. Not sure why there would be two versions in 03 unless there was some non electrical change that was made to the connector. One way would be to check and see if there are separate GM part numbers listed for the EBCM connector or the harness that is part of it. There could also be a difference on the mechanical side of the EBCM where it plugs into the BPMV. Is there a difference in BPMV part numbers through those years? If they changed solenoid locations around that would explain why the parts are different in the GM Parts book.

Actaully what I said was I do not know. I have always been under the assumption that they were compatible. Now this raises questions that need to be answered. GM lists two different part numbers, they don't generally do this when the parts are in fact different, will they work, I don't know. It is sop for us to take YOUR controller and rebuild it. If you are ordering it from AC Delco then what do they say.
Bill,
Yes our rebuilder has a program that he runs the module on, but it does not test everything on it as of now. He is having to reverse engineer all of this as he goes, the same way we had to on the C4 bcm because GM does not have a rebuild program for it,therefore there is not information coming from GM for it. So far we have no returns on any of them that have been rebuilt, that is not to say we will get one though where there is an issue that we can't test. I will say this, the problems with them are not isolated to the relay, there is also some other components that our builder has been able to test bad that are being replaced. It is a cheap component that was used on the original board that goes bad, so if you buy a new one, it also has the cheap component on it that the rebuild will not.
