Is there any way ( other than its toast ) that when i plugged my suspect module into a fully functional 2003 ( my ebcm is an 02 ) it would show NO COMM for any other reason than its screwed? i did not bolt it into place just plugged it in. i figured that the 2 grounds on the plug would be ok for the circuit , as it has rubber mounts.
anyone chime in??? As i say speedo repair guy says module is good . SO HOW CAN I HAVE NO COMM with that module on another corvette and mine!!!!! ???? do you trust these module fixers??
Do a search on No COMM. There are plenty of posts about this. Could be a connector, wiring or ground problem. The connector has many pins. Inspect them for bent pins and/or corrosion/dirt. Also inspect the wiring for any breaks. And check the fuses.

HELP!
Since your getting no comm of both cars I would say it's your module. Check the pins closely on the module. I have no idea if they are compatible so that could be an issue also. Have you checked part numbers to see if they are different between years? How did the module guy check it without plugging it into a Corvette? Very unlikely.

thanks pins are all good etc etc ... yeah thats what i thought ..... But it seems Acdelco sell them for 01 02 (part no 12216561) then 03 04 (10343433) !! also the 01 - 02 are more expensive! check out www.acdelcodirect.com
as the 03 04's are 150 bucks cheaper i thought i would buy one of them. Any advice?? i have started a thread about the compatibility of the 01 -04 . but no 100% answers yet!! some one must know!!

Different part numbers, different price, = different parts.

Ok yep so we know diff part numbers for the ebcms. But what i am trying to work out is. If the EBCM units are not compatible from 01-02 on a 03 04 .... then maybe this is why i still get a NO COMM because the vette i used to plug in the EBCM was an 03 . ( mine is an 02 ) SPeedoguy says my module is good , even though i have my doubts. I dont want to spend $800 on a new module only to find that my module was good all along. hope i make sense
It seems 50% of people think you can use any 01-04 module and the other 50% say NO
I just need a definitive answer to put this to bed !! any vendors or experts please chime in...
