Hey all,
I'm interested in getting a set of longtubes for my 2000 C5. The previous owner had a corsa x pipe and axle back installed. I'm not 100% sure on the diameter of the x pipe. I was told by a local performance shop that it's probably 2 1/2 or 2 3/4. I'd like to buy a set of headers that will mount up to my current x pipe instead of buying another x pipe. Any idea which companies offer something that will work?
Yeah, I figured as much. I'm not completely opposed to the idea. It was basically about saving money more than anything else. The local speed shop recommended kooks LT's and x pipe. I've heard good things about their headers, but I'm also interested in LG. Not sure which way to go...
Here's the set-up I went with for long tubes and I added the Hi-flow
cats which adds another $150 http://shop.huronspeedproducts.com/X...-XSPC5LTHS.htm
The fit and finish is terrific....sound is awesome and the X pipe is now
closer to the engine (right off the collectors). It bolts to your axle-back
exhaust so you can sell the corsa X (which I got 200 for mine), sell the
factory manifolds (got 100 for mine), and since the headpipe has been
modded (cut) just sell or turn in the cats for salvage price. All this can
really knock the price of the new exhaust (upgrade) down....
In my case I picked up a solid 25 more horsepower and I already had
BBK shorty headers.

Like they said it will be hard to find a system to mate up to the Corsa X- Pipe. It will take some fab work.
LG's are great headers and will provide a good bump in torque. Also check out Stainless Works. Made in the USA. You can't beat the fit and finish on them.
We have a nice promo going on for the holidays on both systems
Well my concern is the difference in overall sound difference between catted and non catted system. I really would prefer not to have a drone when I'm cruising. I'm not concerned with emissions, just the sound. Any experience?
