trans control module?

trans control module?
I'm sending my engine computer to magnuson for a tune. They told me to also send the trans control module. Where is this located? I know where the engine computer is...

A4? It is the engine control module..........thats why it's calld officially the PCM....powertrain control module.

Yes that would be it. Where is it located and is there really 2 computers? I just know of the one in the passenger side wheel well.

It is in the pass side wheel well, but one module. It controls both the engine and transmission.

Thx ron, that's what I kept asking him and he insisted there were 2. I thought there was just the one also so thank you for confirming I'm not crazy!

Well, the TAC module is right there too, are you sure that isn't what they were talking about?
It controls the throttle body..........

I hope the guy on the phone isn't the one that does anything that matters. If he doesn't know this then I wouldn't want him programming my stuff.

1997-2004 uses a single PCM to control the engine and trans--
2005 and up uses two separte computers-one for the transs (ECM) and one for the trans (TCM)
