The 6.2 started in the 2008 model year and is currently still the only engine available in the standard C6 and the Grand Sport.

The ZR1 engine is also a 6.2. I assume that this is not what you are referring to.

The AFM or DOD system is not used on the C6---Only on trucks--
However if you've been reading about the NEW 6.2 that GM has annnounced for the C7's
It will incorporate the AFM/DOD system to meet the new CAFE MPG requirements
The C7 will have apprx 450 HP and is a total re-design
In addition to DOD it will have variable valve timing and "Direct Port Injection" which is a whole new direction for Corvettes--2000-3000 lb fuel pressure !!!! cam driven hi pressure fuel pump -----11.5-1 compression !!!

Dont forget the L99 in Camaros. My 6.2L started life in an Escalade. Its pretty easy to delete the vvt/dod system.

Im guessing you have a 6.2L already? If so, yeah these motors make plenty of power with simple mods. Mine makes 470rwhp with just a cam, 10% ud pulley and 1 3/4 headers. Thats a stock block too. Sounds like youre gonna have a solid setup. Good luck with the build.

good luck with side pipes. do you have a wide body kit that extends the rocker panels out or something? that's what it takes to do them on a C5 or C6

and don't forget that the DoD/VVT stuff is more than a tune - it uses different lifters and cam gearing as well a some other pieces that are physically different that their LS3 counterparts

mpg Cut off? No.

your computer programing has more to MPG

to increase HP might want to looking at better heads vs the LS3 heads, different cam per required use, intake and LONG tube headers. Shorties do nothing or very little.

there are quite a few LS3 or 6.2l blocks stroked to a 427 ( 7.0L ) so that is not an issue.

Well, not really they don't. Not in a production car anyway. Even the 7.0 is a small block, fyi.
