Default AC / Heater noise...need HELP!

Ok guys.....I have done a LOT of searching on here for a similar post and have not found my exact problem discussed. I have been experiencing a wierd little noise from the A/C system while in heat or AC mode. It sounds like the fan motor has bearings going bad but I pulled the covers yesterday and pulled out the fan and motor. After reconnecting under the dash and listening, it seems fine with no apparent noises. I shot some lubicant into the bearing for good measure and reassembled and it seemd fixed. But after about 5 minutes, I get the same noise. What's weird, it seems to flucuate with the rpm's of the car engine? If I turn off the heater and AC,,,the noise is gone so it is definitely related to the system? Any ideas?

If you oiled it, and the noise subsided for a few minutes, then it's most likely the bearings of the fan. These are most likely not ball bearings, they're a bushing and a hardened shaft. (I am unsure as I have not taken the actual fan apart, but, I've done LOTS of fans like those). They have a porous (sorta like felt) oil retainer which is filled when new, and slowly dries out over time. Those would need some oil in order to have them keep the fan lubed now. There's probably holes in the fan housing for filling them, but sometimes you need a syringe to do so. Either that or take the fan apart, fill them and stick it back together. Getting oil in isn't easy, since the idea is for oil not to come out.

Then too, they sell new fan motors every day.
