Default Electrical issues

My ECBM has crapped out for starters now my fuel info resets whenever I turn the car off and on. Are they related? Or is there possibly a larger issue at hand?

Thanks

ZEDS

The reset issue stems from a bad weak battery. Have your battery fully charged and then take it to somewhere that can FULLY TEST your battery,, It needs to be tested for Cold Cranking Amps & Reserve Capacity.

If the reserve capacity or the ability to maintain proper output voltage during cranking (when the starter draws full current), it will cause the battery output voltage to drop below minimum voltage to operate the BCM, PCM and IPC. Measure the battery voltage directly on the battery terminals and have someone start the engine. See how LOW the battery output voltage drops. Anything below 10 VDC and your going to have issues.

When that happens,, all the things that you set to memory or calculate (like fuel mileage, trip odometer, and memory settings ect...) reset.

Have the battery fully tested. I bet thats your issue.

Thanks for the response I have read several of your posts and all of them are very informative. Unfortunately the battery is only a few weeks old.

Your losing B+ voltage somehow. The next thing that I would check are the battery cables. Make POSITIVE that they are properly torqued into place. Cable bolt torque is 11 ft/lbs. If you can move them by hand,, they are toooo loose.

Next would be the ignition switch.
