Super Coolant Flush Recommendation?
But I've been looking or haven't looked hard enough.
I need advice if using a super flush coolant agent for a complete radiator coolant flush wont mess up my engine or is not recommended.
My 03 z06 is going on 51k miles and from the looks of the coolant reservoir it. The coolant has never been changed (previous owners
) it also looks really dirty. So ten years of build up im guessing. And i was wondering if using a super flush coolant agent wont mess the engine or radiator while trying to eliminate all the grease and grind. Or if just flushing with distilled water is only recommended? any advice is greatly appreciated thx.
The older coolant I've seen has flakes and crud in it which may stick in the surge tank and eventually plug up the radiator passages. A flush will take care of that sometimes. Other times you need to replace the radiator if it's too plugged up.
If your coolant looks like it has black grease & grime in it (oil), you may have another issue. Are there any overheating issues? Any coolant loss? How does your oil look?
