It is time for a new brake setup on my c5 FRC, currently have stock brakes and street drive and drag race but do not care for the look of the stockers
I currently have 17 GTO spares with 1.25 adaptor/spacer up front and run 17in early model GM grandsport rear wheels 17.9.5. Will this setup work with C6zo6 brakes, if not what skinnies are the c6z06 guys running that are not outrageous in price.
Street setup are forgestar 18/19 f14's satin black, make the already small c5 brakes look tiny, so I have to admit I am going for some looks as well, but want to continue to run my drag setup.
FWIW, my C5 came with the the C5 "ZO6" Red Calipers and then I added 18/19 wheels, Baer Plus I/II 2 piece rotors, Hawke HPS Pads, Goodridge SS Brake Lines, and for looks added the matching red powder coated caliper brackets.
I first tried the Hawk Ceramic Pads which were fine for aggressive street driving, but they were actually a little scary on an autocross course. Serious fade issues. But, the zero dust was nice.
Braking is now significantly improved in all respects and fade is not an issue. Looks-wise, the new brackets really improved the visual impact of the C5 calipers, especially the puny rear singles.
Maybe someday I'll go with Baer calipers or the C6 ZO6 calipers with Baer single piece pads not the problematic multi-pad GM setup. For now this rig meets my needs.

Thanks fOr info, the whole caliper painted def looks much better as does the bigger rotor and that's what I am looking for, can u run 17 in wheels up front witht that setup

I believe those rotors require 18" up front. Check with an expert like Joseph @ West Coast Corvettes or whoever you use for that type of purchase.
