Default Trouble codes

I purchased this 02 C5 with 32k miles. It has only been driven 4k in the last 4 or 5 years. I was driving home when the check engine light came on. Pulled the code P0158 which is HO2S circuit condition bank 2 sensor 2. I replaced the O2 sensor then the light came back on. This time the code was the catalytic converter bank 2. I put headers and high flow cats on and now the original P0158 code is being thrown. I had the code cleared. Does anyone know how many miles a C5 has to be driven for the PCM to be "ready"? Also could this sensor be bad already?

All the code does is tell you which circuit has a problem, not which component of the circuit has a problem. An O2 sensor code does not necessarily mean the O2 sensor is bad. It could be anything in the circuit. To properly troubleshoot the problem you will need to get your Factory Servive Manual out and start using it. Do not get a Haynes or Chilton or any manual but the factory set published by Helm. They are available new from vendors and are quite often available used in the parts for sale section.
