Default 98 Heater Hose Replacement

I am replacing the heater hoses on my 98. The removal of the radiator
cover looks to be rather simple but are there any traps that I need to be aware of as I am removing it?

On the passengers side there will be a 1"X1"X1" square rubber spacer under the cover.

When you remove the cover,, it will fall out and later you will find it on the ground and say to your self... "WHAT IN THE HELL IS THAT AND WHERE IN THE HELL DID IT COME FROM??"

So,,,,,, carefully take note of where and how that rubber fits in under the cover.

Take a picture of it. That will help others see how it fits and where.

When you get the cover off, look down between the Radiator and AC Condensor and see how much trash and debri gets lodged between the two.

No, it's very straight-forward.

Tip: Take note of the one (and only) heater hose that is straight. It is an odd (metric) size and a traditional 5/8" is too big and a 1/2" is too small. It carries GM part number 12368235. It comes as a roll.
I would recommend contacting Gene at GMpartshouse.com and buy the 2' feet (~) of it you'll need before you get started. He'll know what you need. Many dealers carry that hose in bulk for their service dept. and will sell it by the foot as it also is used on other GM vehicles. All the remaining pre-molded hoses are easily available from a variety of sources or you can just get all you need at GMpartshouse. Prices vary, so shop around.
