2002 Front Ride Height not Good
Guys
my front fender wells from ground to top of well measures 25 1/4
I am told standard is about 27 1/2... My 99 measures 27 1/2
I pulled the wheels and adjusted the spring bolts all the way in so only a thread or two is showing on the top of the spring and ran it around and ride height really did not change....
anyone have any ideas - all is stock and tires are stock
Thanks

Take a good look at the spring for cracks or other damage.

is the spring and the spring bolt adjusters the only thing that dictates fender height above the tire?

As long as the spring isn't damaged, or lost its "arch", yes.

Thanks
so in nothing but the spring controls height - and mine is down at 25 1/8
then I have to have a bad spring....

Guys
would the crack in the attached pic cause enough of a spring issue to be the cause of the ride height problem?

The pic you posted is barely a scratch, certainly not enough to effect ride height.
For comparison, here is a spring with a significant damage:

Thanks very much for the replies...
clearly ride height in my case is being effected and if the only variable that controls ride height is the spring and the adjustors and the adjustors are adjusted for maximum height and max height is not realized that rational thought dictates that the crack in the spring is responsible...
thanks again for the input...

Barely a scratch? Did you not see the open crack in the edge of the spring?

Sorry, can't say I do. Maybe he can take a better picture.

In post #7 it shows at least a 3"-4" crack/seperation on the side
of the spring.
OP has never stated if the stock adjusters have the bottom bushings cut.

Is this what you guys are talking about? I'd ask for a better picture before jumping to the "your spring is broken and you need a new one" conclusion.

Go directly above your red circle. That is where the stress crack in the
side of the spring is. (at least it looks that way to me....& quite long too.)

No. Try looking at the other edge.

That's not going to cause the car to sit almost 2 inches lower though.
