Default Optimum Voltage from Alternator

This is a more targeted post to one I made previously regarding a recent Alternator swap...

I just installed an Ultima Re-Manufactured Alternator from O'Reillys today to replace a GM Valeo that died on me a couple days ago.

My voltage on the dash gauge AND the DIC now read 14.3V steady. This is the first time since I have owned the car that I have seen the fabled 14+ Volts! Both my factory Valeo alternators in the past never got me above 13.7 on their best day. I am showing 15.1 Volts at the battery with the car running.

My question is are these new voltage readings I am getting in the SAFE RANGE?

15.1 volts measured at the battery is somewhat high. Is the voltmeter that you're using accurate?

I have not hooked up my DVM yet, I am just going by a Stinger Digital Battery Terminal that I have installed on the Positive Terminal ( http://www.darvex.com/store/pc/XScor...nal-14p228.htm )

Looks like things have settled down since the car warmed up and the battery had stabilized... now getting 12.88volts at rest and 14.20volts running.
