vin no. location

Just bought the car and neeed to know where is the location of the vin no. oa 1981 vette? I though it was on the dash at base of window. maybe it has a dash pad covering it up.

Sounds like you're probably on the right track, but you might want to check the C3 boards. There may be alternate locations as well, i.e. frame, etc.

Im pretty sure the drivers side dash was universal well before the 80's. My 84 is for reference. Maybe try moving the dash around like you said.
